Fishing in the Wetlands

Many people have asked regarding people fishing in the wetlands.  This question was posed to council and their response can be seen below:

Thank you for contacting us regarding this issue. We have received other complaints regarding this issue in other wetlands as well.

It is not illegal to fish in wetlands according to state legislation as long as the fisher is in possession of a fishing licence and is doing so in the correct manner. If you suspect that someone is fishing illegally, you can report it to Fisheries Victoria: http://agriculture.vic.gov.au/fisheries/enforcement/13fish-intelligence-reporting-line

Sons of the West - Wyndham Men Encouraged to Kick Start 2017 The Fit And Healthy Way

Wyndham men are being encouraged to put down the chicken parmigiana and put on some runners with the Sons of the West Men’s Health Program back for another year.

Aimed at improving the physical and mental wellbeing of men in the West and delivered by Wyndham City and the Western Bulldogs Football Club, the program is now in its fourth year.

Wyndham City Mayor, Cr Henry Barlow, said Sons of the West could help men drop the weight they gained over the holidays and start 2017 in a healthy way.

“The Sons of the West program is completely free to take part in and is such a great way for men to kick start their health and fitness goals and make 2017 the starting point of a healthier life,” Cr Barlow said.
