Fishing in the Wetlands

Many people have asked regarding people fishing in the wetlands.  This question was posed to council and their response can be seen below:

Thank you for contacting us regarding this issue. We have received other complaints regarding this issue in other wetlands as well.

It is not illegal to fish in wetlands according to state legislation as long as the fisher is in possession of a fishing licence and is doing so in the correct manner. If you suspect that someone is fishing illegally, you can report it to Fisheries Victoria: http://agriculture.vic.gov.au/fisheries/enforcement/13fish-intelligence-reporting-line

Bayview Park Update

Please see below correspondence from the council giving an update on the timelines for the replacement of Bayview Park.

The project is currently out for tender closing on 25 May 2016. We have had a report from our playground auditor indicating issues with the slide. This had to be taken into account as a late amendment to tendering documents.

Works on site will commence mid-June 2016 on the awarding of the contract. It is anticipated the works will take 8 weeks and will be completed by 15 August 2016.

We have included 2 options for the ship. Option 1 will provide hard wood with fire retardant and the second a plastic composite that is hard to burn and that looks like wood.
